Tosh Hayashi – guitarist
Tosh began studying and performing flamenco guitar with Alma de Espana’s Harry Owen and Veronica McGuire in Victoria, BC in the mid 90s. Relocating to Vancouver in 1999, he was long the house accompanist for the dance classes of Oscar Nieto and performed with many of BC’s top flamenco artists there. He has studied in Spain under El Parilla de Jerez, Juan Moneo Carrasco, Jesus El Guarida, and Miguel Salado. Tosh has become known and respected musically among artsy and flamenco inner circles throughout Canada and, since his last appearance in Edmonton in late 2015, has spent 3 months living and studying in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain and has produced a constantly sold out series of small-venue tradition-heavy flamenco shows in Calgary.
