Master Classes with Farru – November 1st

In the first of a few announcements this fall, I’m thrilled to announce master classes with Spanish flamenco dancer Antonio Fernandez Montoya, Farru, of the legendary Farruco family. He will be on tour with The Paco de Lucia Project, (performing in St. Albert October 31st at the Arden Theatre). Working in collaboration with Flamencos por el Mundo, we are fortunate to have the opportunity to study with him in Edmonton on November 1st.

I have taken a fair amount of class with Farru and study with his family regularly. He’s a friendly and generous teacher. If you’ve ever studied tarantos or tangos with me, chances are you have learned some of his steps. Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime opportunity to study with him! He is rarely in Canada and we are lucky to have the chance to study with him in Edmonton on this tour.

Rosanna Terracciano’s film project – A Quiet Flamenco

Two years ago Canadian dance artist Rosanna Terracciano invited me to participate in her film project A Quiet Flamenco – exposing the introverted, vulnerable and muted aspects of flamenco dance through film. one artist at a time. I am honoured to be one of six artists from across Canada invited for this initial round of films which was just completed in December and includes my work as a flamenco dancer and pianist.

Other artists in this initial series include:

Myriam Allard (Montréal)

This month it was a featured article online in The Dance Current – www.thedancecurrent.com/video/quiet-flamenco.
