Flamenco classes this weekend

Dear Students,

I’m happy to confirm that regular classes are indeed running this evening and our flamenco session will begin.

The studio we hold our Friday classes in is ready to go but at this time is the only one ready to use.  They anticipate having a second studio ready for the Sevillanas class as well and will confirm with me by 2pm.

Sevillanas students: please assume the class is running tonight and check the website after 2pm as I will post very clearly on the home page if the classes are running or cancelled. I will not be sending out another email.

Sunday students: because the studio is so busy on Sundays, they are still unable to confirm that we will have a studio to use.  I am meant to have confirmation by today. Remember we begin daylight savings this weekend and please check the website to see the status of classes before heading out to class. I will not be sending out another email.

My website again is www.flamencojane.com

Thank you so much for your patience as we sort this out.
hope to see you in class!

Flamenco classes this weekend

Dear Students,

Our studio is optimistic that we will be able to run classes this weekend (Sevillanas included) but they cannot confirm until Friday morning. The damage has been more extensive than initially thought with all of the floors having to be removed and replaced along with the bottom 2′ of all the walls. It does appear that the floors may be finished this evening (Wed.)

I will send out an email on Friday confirming if the studio is open or if we will again have to cancel classes for this weekend.

If you haven’t received an update from me by Friday, confirming that classes are running or cancelled, please be sure to check the home page of my website (www.flamencojane.com) before heading out to class.

Should classes end up cancelled I will let everyone know what happens with payment or rescheduling at that time.  I am very sorry for the inconvenience!

thank you for your patience,
Jane

Classes cancelled this weekend

Dear Students,

I regret to say that the studio is still in the process of cleaning up the mess left by the watermain break this week and so our classes are cancelled for this weekend (Feb 28th and March 2nd). As I know some students are not able to attend a rescheduled class in May, I am instead going to refund the money for this weekend to those students that have paid in full.

Sevillanas students: We are hoping to run the class on March 7th instead. If you could confirm your attendance for the new date asap, I would appreciate it. I will update you individually once I know if the class is running or not.

For students that have paid for the session in full: My classes run at $15/hour (for those that have paid for 2 levels, a second level at %75 comes to $11.25). I would like to refund in cash on our first class, March 7th/9th if you are not okay with this and would like a refund sooner, please email me (janeogilvie at mail dot com) and I’ll be happy to mail you a cheque immediately. Due to the mass of transaction fees that an interac e-transfer to so many students would incur, I am unable to offer it as a refund method.

For those that have only paid the $40 registration: I have adjusted the total session fee to reflect the loss of time as per below. You can also find this updated information on the website under CLASSES

Adjusted Full Session fees:
$105 – Introductory – balance due after $40 registration fee = $65
$135 – Level I – balance due after $40 registration fee = $95
$135 – Level II – balance due after $40 registration fee = $95
$135 – Level III – balance due after $40 registration fee = $95

a reminder that the balance of fees is due at your first class.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. See you next weekend!

Flamenco class IMPORTANT

Dear Students,

I have just received notice from our studio, Marr-Mac Dance, that there has been a water main break causing flooding in the studio. Currently they are only closed for this evening (Tues) but they are providing regular updates as to whether the studio will be closed for the week. I will send out an email on Friday morning confirming if the studio is open or if we will have to cancel classes for this weekend.

If you haven’t received an update from me by Friday, confirming that classes are running or cancelled, please be sure to check the home page of my website (www.flamencojane.com) before heading out to class.

Should classes end up cancelled I will let everyone know what happens with payment or rescheduling at that time.

thank you for your patience,
Jane

Flamenco Classes set to run

The registrations are in and classes are confirmed to begin on the weekend of Friday, February 28th to Sunday, March 2nd.

All levels are running. If you have only paid the $40 registration fee, please remember to bring the remaining balance to the first class. ($80 remaining for the Intro level and $110 for all other levels)

Sevillanas students: I am just waiting to hear back from the studio about Feb. 28th and will confirm as soon as I know.

Performance students: all dates are confirmed to run.  For those unable to commit to dates, the sooner you confirm your attendance on any given date, the better I’ll know when I can invite Nyles to accompany the class.

If you have mailed your registration in and haven’t heard from me, I haven’t received it yet. An email receipt will be sent to you once I receive it in the mail.

Missed the deadline? Registration will be accepted until the first class. If you would like to join a class and you have not registered or let me know that you will be dropping in, please send me an email (janeogilvie at mail dot com).

For your convenience, the updated calendar for this session is posted on the website.

Beginners and new students, if you haven’t already done so, you may want to look through the FAQ page.

Sunday’s classes will run as planned.  If you are thinking of attending this Sunday or the review classes on Feb 7/9, and have not let me know this is a possibility for you, please let me know by email so I can make sure you are personally informed in the event that they are cancelled.

Flamenco Registration Reminder

A quick reminder that today is the registration deadline for the review classes on Jan 24th/26th and Feb 7/9, and the performance group classes on Jan 26th and Feb 9. Registration is done by email confirmation.

Clarification on performance group classes:
Confirmation is only needed on the Jan 26th and Feb 9 dates for the moment. The other dates can be registered for by the Feb. 14th registration date (The website has been changed to reflect this). Attendance at the performance classes is not a commitment to perform, they are merely classes to bring together the knowledge students already have and work on how students can put a performance together.

Class information can be found here.

If you are planning to attend classes on Jan 24th/26th and/or Feb 7/9, please make sure to let me know by today.

hope to see you there!
